- 20+ years in public education
- Chaired thousands of IEP meetings
- Teacher, district supervisor, assistant principal, special education administrator
- Parent of neurodivergent children who has used IEPs and 504 plans
If you’ve felt lost in the special education process, you’re not alone.
Most parents are handed a stack of evaluations, a room full of acronyms, and a few minutes to respond. You don’t need to become an expert overnight. You need someone who has sat at the head of that table and knows what to ask.
MindBridge keeps advocacy collaborative. The goal is a clear, shared understanding between you and the school, not a fight.
“I got a 50-page evaluation and no one explained it.”
“The meeting moved so fast I left unsure what was decided.”
“I’ve emailed the school, and nothing changes.”
“I know my child is struggling, but I don’t know what to ask for.”

Common questions
Who is MindBridge for?
Connecticut and New York families whose children have, or may need, an IEP or 504 plan, especially when you feel unheard, overwhelmed by paperwork, or unsure what to ask for.
Will advocacy hurt my relationship with the school?
That’s the opposite of the goal. MindBridge advocacy is collaborative, built on clear communication, transparent timelines, and a professional rapport with district staff.
What should I bring to the first consultation?
Your child’s most recent IEP or 504 plan, any evaluations, recent progress reports, and important emails with the school. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything. We can start with what you have.
Is Vanessa an attorney?
No. Vanessa is an education consultant and advocate. Her guidance draws on 20+ years of experience in special education law, programming, and school operations, but it is not legal advice.
How much does it cost?
Fees depend on the type of support you need. Book a consultation and you’ll know exactly what to expect before you commit to anything. Ready to go? Purchase consultation hours here and select your desired quantity at checkout.
